ClassesClasses are held from September 2010 through May 2011. Mommy and Me classes run for 10 weeks per session. Adult Classes run for 14 weeks sessions, next session begins September 10th, 2010. Workshops are TBA. No classes will be held during Guilford Public School's Thanksgiving, Dec., Feb. & April vacations. All students taking Pointe Classes must take 3 technique classes per week to stay on Pointe. Any exceptions are at the discretion of the director. Observation Weeks: All parents and siblings are welcome to view the class of their registered dancer. Observation weeks are in held in the fall and spring. The scheduled observation weeks for '10-'11 classes are still to be determined.
Our goal is to provide our students with a firm foundation and a clear understanding of their art form. We strive to provide a superior technical dance training in an atmosphere that fosters creativity, motivation, and a positive self-image. Our ballet teaching follows the Vagonova system from Russia, which trains a child to develop good body placement and strong muscles with a progression of skills.

** Modern must be taken by all Level IV-V dancers in addition to their Choose(4/5) in addition to the "choose X" price.
**Students should request placement for BIV students for Modern. Suggested for Ballet III.
Notes:
All Students who wish to register for classes in a manner that is not consistent with Starship Dance Studio policy must receive approval from the director.
All dancers en Pointe will need to take a minimum of three technique classes per week plus Pointe instruction to continue. Those who would like to continue Ballet instruction, but who will not be continuing to devote the time in class required to stay En Pointe, may request permission to take advanced classes on flat.
Level IV-V dancers must take a Modern class. All level IV see director for a level placement. All Level V dancers will be placed in
Inter/Advanced Modern.
All Level III dancers are encouraged to
take a Modern class to aid in development of their dance skills.
The deposit and registration fee is due upon registration. The remainder of the class fees are due by December 1, 2010. A late payment fee of 3% of the remainder due will be added to balance. A 5% discount will be given to tuition for full year classes when payment is made in full by Registration / Demonstration day on August 21, 2010. This deposit is non-refundable after 5 weeks of classes. Registrations later than November 1st require payment in full. The registration fee is $25 per dancer (or per family) for each dance year. Adult classes and summer classes require no registration fee. Registration fees can be avoided by pre-registering by July 1st of the previous dance year. A deposit of $200 must accompany the pre-registration form to be accepted.
Make-up Policy:
Classes missed due to personal or weather conditions may be made up in an appropriate class with instructor's permission within six weeks of the absence. Attendance is vital to progress.
Dress Code:
No skirts attached to leotards & hair secured neatly. Please follow the following clothing guidelines.
